Investment Strategy
Market opportunities in terms of financial services, telecommunications, property and ICT-related businesses have been identified as areas in which the Group has built itself into a BEE-investment holding company.
Committed to working with partners to maximise growth and profitability, a three-pronged investment strategy is adopted, determined by the nature of each project undertaken.
- Operational and equity control in trading businesses – in terms of which the Group acquires a controlling interest in the target company, empowers management and provides strategic and operational support to the company.
- Strategic partnership (investment in companies outside of its trading businesses) – alongside investors in terms of which the Group would make an investment of up to a maximum of 40% in an unlisted entity where it is deemed there is value to be unlocked. This encompasses taking up board positions, providing strategic support and direction alongside management.
- Financial and strategic investments in listed entities – in terms of which the Group would acquire minority shareholdings in blue chip companies offering solid growth opportunities, forming a strategic relationship in order to grow the business with the company.
